Margaret Kurz is an experienced criminal defense attorney who has spent nearly her entire career immersed in military law.
Years ago, she was nicknamed the “Hammer of Justice” by colleagues, a name earned by her dogged, “never give up” attitude. Margaret has always stood out as a zealous advocate, one who is thoroughly prepared, thoughtful, and ready to argue on a client’s behalf.
She has earned acquittals for clients wrongly charged with criminal offenses, ranging from sexual assault to financial fraud and has represented clients of every rank from Private to General Officer.
In addition to two combat deployments and service as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division, she knows all aspects of military law, having served as a prosecutor, defense counsel, and as the legal adviser on high-profile investigations. Stationed at Fort Bragg for years, and handpicked to lead some of the most noteworthy of criminal trials, she is familiar with the Military culture, the Fort Bragg area, and the issues faced by service members placed in high-stress environments. She knows what Soldiers know, as she is one of them.
Not just a lawyer, Margaret most enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and is an avid Crossfitter.
